Meet the Speakers

Meet the Speakers

Daryl Norcott, JD is Amend’s Director of Community Partnerships and Special Projects. He is responsible for developing programs and engaging a growing number of community partners and allies on long-term culture change strategies in U.S. prisons. In 2021, Daryl launched the Amend Ambassadors leadership program, an initiative that provides advanced training in Amend’s health-focused methodologies and professional development opportunities in education, facilitation, and public speaking. From 2023-2025 he served as a member of Justice Reinvented, a group of community organizations and academic centers dedicated to reimagining California’s prison system. He currently directs Amend’s “Cell-2-Cell” program, a network of virtual exchanges connecting people incarcerated in the U.S. and Europe through facilitated video conferences. Daryl brings over twenty years of experience in policy analysis, government, and community building to his work at Amend. He lives in the Bay Area with his family. Amend is a non-profit program based at the UCSF School of Medicine. We are a physician-led team with expertise in public health, criminal justice, corrections, the law, research and program evaluation, and organizational change. Through thought leadership, program development, and on-the-ground training, we draw on international models and public health practices to transform U.S. carceral facilities from institutions of isolation and punishment to centers of rehabilitation, health, and humanity. https://amend.us/daryl-norcott/
